On my way to the library to return, A Diet for a Hot Planet and to pick up Eating Animals (which I’m really excited about and recommend both books for any reading list), I passed by these new recycling and trash bins. I’ve noticed some unique recycling and trash bins lately, but this one is definitely new. It looks nice and use to easy. Best part is that the trash’s compactor is solar-powered. It compacts trash, which reduces costs and frequency of trucks driving around and picking up trash. I looked up the company called Big Belly and they have been implemented in Philly and seem to be saving the city tons of money and promote recycling efforts. I’m all for less trash trucks driving around and even more for producing less waste overall!
